Cathy Nugent of the Zionist AWL debates Richard Angell of the Blairite Progress on how to solve the “problem” of left anti-semitism in the Labour party.  Should we ban for life from membership of Labour those “antisemites” who criticise Israel’s mass murder of Palestinians? Angell was sure we should. And what was antisemitism anyway? The AWL Mark Osbourne was of the opinion that those who chanted “Free Palestine” were definitely antisemitic.

This ‘debate’ between the Zionist ‘socialist’ Alliance for Workers Liberty and the Blairite Progress in the Labour Party is an obscenity. Ostensibly about ‘how to fight anti-semitism on the left’, in terms of the people involved, it could be better titled ‘how to promote murder and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, and their supporters in the Labour Party’.

Both sides are Zionists who support the state of Israel, which as an ethocratic tyranny, on the scale of barbaric racism, lies somewhere between apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany. It is worse than the old SA, as the majority of the black population were not actually thrown out of the country under that regime. But unlike Nazi Germany, it has not as yet tried to physically exterminate the Arab population that it wants rid of. Though the possibility of such an outright genocide is implicit in the very notion of an unwanted population, which the Palestinian Arabs certainly are.

Following the fall of Saigon in 1975 UN Resolution 3379 affirmed that “Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination”. George Bush’s triumphant neo-liberalism repealed it in1991 after the USSR fell. Alan Johnson proposes a racist category of “anti-Zionist anti-semitism”. Baroness Royall cleared Oxford University Labour Club of institutional racism but outrageously recommended they work with the racist Jewish Labour Movement  (JLM) to ensure training around anti-semitism.

Progress are a racist, criminal anti-working class trend. Founded by supporters of the war criminal Tony Blair, who was responsible along with Bush for the invasion and destruction of Iraq, and the torture and even large-scale sexual abuse of its people (with transparent Israeli support), and for neo-liberal attacks on the working class at home such as PFI, tuition fees for students, school ‘academies’, workfare and many more, these promoters of racism, mass murder and privatisation are enemies of workers and all the oppressed.

We should throw them out of UK Labour, not debate them. As for the proposal that ‘anti-semites’ (which in the current Newspeak means not people who hate Jews, but rather people who hate anti-Arab pogroms and murder) should be excluded from Labour for life, that just indicates the anti-democratic nature of Progress and other anti-Arab racists like the Labour Friends of Israel, and the JLM which is in fact the UK affiliate of the Israeli party of the Naqba (the ethnic cleansing of Palestine).

These liars seek to overthrow Jeremy Corbyn and bring back the criminal politics of Blairism. That is the purpose of the witchhunt against so-called ‘anti-semites’, that makes use of Goebells’ method of the Big Lie. The AWL are assisting this reactionary project in debating Progress, consciously or not.

The Israeli ‘Labour’ Party, whose first Prime Minister was the war criminal David Ben-Gurion, is the party that through terror and massacres, drove out more than two-thirds of the Palestinian people in 1947-8, 750,000, as well as occupying the West Bank and Gaza in 1967, and were responsible for the fraudulent ‘peace’ of Oslo, where the settlement of the West Bank and Gaza far from stopping, massively increased.  There are now 6.5 million refugees.

There can be no peace in Palestine and Israel without the overthrow of the racist Zionist state and the return of the victims of the last 70 years of Zionist terrorism and ethnic cleansing. And Labour cannot call itself an anti-racist party while supporters of murder and pogroms are allowed to rule the roost in Labour and pursue racist blood libels against anti-racist opponents of Zionism. Throw Progress, LFI and JLM racists out of Labour. Reinstate all victims of the racist, anti-democratic Blairite/Zionist purge!

The ambulance moves across to obstruct vision, the gunshot rings out and al-Sharif lies dead with blood pouring from his head.  Azaria is charged with “manslaughter” !!

Israel Defense Forces Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Yair Golan has felt obliged to speak out about the actions of his own IDF, comparing them to the Nazis in words that would get a British Labour party member immediately expelled for antisemitism. Ken Livingstone spoke the truth about Nazi/Zionist collaboration far less sharply. Golan reportedly said:

“It’s scary to see horrifying developments that took place in Europe begin to unfold here … the Holocaust should bring us to ponder our public lives and, furthermore, it must lead anyone who is capable of taking public responsibility to do so. Because if there is one thing that is scary in remembering the Holocaust, it is noticing horrific processes which developed in Europe – particularly in Germany – 70, 80, and 90 years ago, and finding remnants of that here among us in the year 2016 …(we must) uproot the first signs of intolerance, violence, and self-destruction that arise on the path to moral degradation. There is nothing easier and simpler than fear-mongering and threatening. There is nothing easier and simpler than in behaving like beasts, becoming morally corrupt and sanctimonious.”

Deputy Chief of the General Staff Major General Yair Golan

His Holocaust Memorial Day remarks apparently referred to the case of Elor Azaria, the 19-year-old Israeli soldier now charged with manslaughter for shooting a motionless wounded Palestinian, Abed al-Fatah al-Sharif, in the head. Any unbiased observer who viewed that terrible video would want to know why he is not charged with first degree murder, why the seriously wounded Palestinian was not treated first before the obviously lightly wounded Israeli in a triage system?

Any why the rest of the IDF soldiers and the ‘medical team’ were completely unfazed about the brutal murder that took place just before their eyes; clearly for them this is normal practice. Obviously they too should be charged with war crimes. It has long been rumoured that Palestinians being taken to hospital by Israeli ambulances emerge dead because the ‘medics’ murder them inside the ambulances. The nonchalant body language of these medics suggested that they may be some truth in these allegations.

Russia Today reported that on 19 April thousands demonstrated on Tel Aviv’s central Rabin square protesting even the charge of manslaughter. The crowd hailed the killer as a “hero.” And they yelled nationalist slogans, waving Israeli flags, and holding banners reading “Free Elor”. The demonstration was led by Azaria’s family. It also saw a number of radical groups taking part, including Lehava, a far-right Jewish organization that has been accused of committing extremist acts against non-Jews.

Baruch Marzel, the leader of the outlawed ultranationalist Kach party, which is recognized as a terrorist group in Israel, the US, and EU, was also reportedly spotted at the protest. Marzel was amongst the first to congratulate Azaria on a successful “operation” at the site of the crime, as al-Sharif’s body was being removed.

A woman holding a two-side poster bearing the words “Too many terrorists in prison” on one side, continuing with “kill them all” on the other, was seen briefly at one point in the rally before being removed. The demonstrators were vocal in accusing Israel’s political leadership of “abandoning” Azaria.

Israeli lawmaker’s call for genocide of Palestinians gets thousands of Facebook likes

Ayelet Shaked (Wikipedia)

Update, 8 May 2015

In light of Ayelet Shaked’s appointment as justice minister in the new Israeli coalition government, and renewed interest in her anti-Palestinian views, an image of her now-deleted Facebook posting has been added below, along with the full and complete translation.

Original post

A day before Palestinian teenager Muhammad Abu Khudair was kidnapped and burned alive allegedly by six Israeli Jewish youths, Israeli lawmaker Ayelet Shaked published on Facebook a call for genocide of the Palestinians.

It is a call for genocide because it declares that “the entire Palestinian people is the enemy” and justifies its destruction, “including its elderly and its women, its cities and its villages, its property and its infrastructure.”

It is a call for genocide because it calls for the slaughter of Palestinian mothers who give birth to “little snakes.”

If Shaked’s post does not meet the legal definition of a call for genocide then nothing does.

Shaked is a senior figure in the Habeyit Hayehudi (Jewish Home) party that is part of Israel’s ruling coalition.

Her post was shared more than one thousand times and received almost five thousand “Likes.”

Uri Elitzur, to whom she refers, and who died a few months ago, was leader of the settler movement and speechwriter and close advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Here’s a translation of Shaked’s posting:

This is an article by the late Uri Elitzur, which was written 12 years ago, but remained unpublished. It is as relevant today as it was at the time.

The Palestinian people has declared war on us, and we must respond with war. Not an operation, not a slow-moving one, not low-intensity, not controlled escalation, no destruction of terror infrastructure, no targeted killings. Enough with the oblique references. This is a war. Words have meanings. This is a war. It is not a war against terror, and not a war against extremists, and not even a war against the Palestinian Authority. These too are forms of avoiding reality. This is a war between two people. Who is the enemy? The Palestinian people. Why? Ask them, they started.

I don’t know why it’s so hard for us to define reality with the simple words that language puts at our disposal. Why do we have to make up a new name for the war every other week, just to avoid calling it by its name. What’s so horrifying about understanding that the entire Palestinian people is the enemy? Every war is between two peoples, and in every war the people who started the war, that whole people, is the enemy. A declaration of war is not a war crime. Responding with war certainly is not. Nor is the use of the word “war”, nor a clear definition who the enemy is. Au contraire: the morality of war (yes, there is such a thing) is founded on the assumption that there are wars in this world, and that war is not the normal state of things, and that in wars the enemy is usually an entire people, including its elderly and its women, its cities and its villages, its property and its infrastructure.

And the morality of war knows that it is not possible to refrain from hurting enemy civilians. It does not condemn the British air force, which bombed and totally destroyed the German city of Dresden, or the US planes that destroyed the cities of Poland and wrecked half of Budapest, places whose wretched residents had never done a thing to America, but which had to be destroyed in order to win the war against evil. The morals of war do not require that Russia be brought to trial, though it bombs and destroys towns and neighborhoods in Chechnya. It does not denounce the UN Peacekeeping Forces for killing hundreds of civilians in Angola, nor the NATO forces who bombed Milosevic’s Belgrade, a city with a million civilians, elderly, babies, women, and children. The morals of war accept as correct in principle, not only politically, what America has done in Afghanistan, including the massive bombing of populated places, including the creation of a refugee stream of hundreds of thousands of people who escaped the horrors of war, for thousands of whom there is no home to return to.

And in our war this is sevenfold more correct, because the enemy soldiers hide out among the population, and it is only through its support that they can fight. Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. Actors in the war are those who incite in mosques, who write the murderous curricula for schools, who give shelter, who provide vehicles, and all those who honor and give them their moral support. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there.

There are celebrations of mourning and honor in two homes of two despicable murderers. I assume they have put up outdoor mourning structures, and all the dignitaries of the city come to honor the mother and father who raised the devil. Those two houses should be bombed from the air, with intention to destroy and to kill. And it should be announced that we will do this from now on to every home of every martyr.

There is nothing more just, and probably nothing more efficient. Every suicide attacker should know that he takes with him also his parents and his house and some of the neighbors. Every brave Um-Jihad who sends her son to hell should know she’s going with him, along with the house and everything inside it.”

Prevention cannot be focused. That’s how it is in wars. Whatever’s focused cannot prevent. It is not we who started this dastardly war and it is not we who can stop it. The keys to the ceasefire are in the hands of the members of the Palestinian nation. We can only singe their fingers until they wish to use them.

Shocking words like this from Israeli leaders have an impact. And they are words backed by actions.

When Israel rampages against the entire Palestinian population, subjecting them to what Human Rights Watch calls “collective punishment,” it sends a clear message to the Israeli public that any Palestinian is fair game for “revenge.”

Shaked evidently has much worse in mind. Here’s an image of the original Facebook post, which Shaked subsequently deleted:

Israeli lawmaker Ayelet Shaked’s now deleted Facebook posting calling for genocide of the Palestinians.

Hate trickles down

In another sickening example of the country’s endemic racism, Israeli website shtieble.net, which is oriented toward an Orthodox Jewish audience, referred to lynching victim Muhammad Abu Khudair in a headline as a “little terrorist.”

Vengeance for the blood of a small child, Satan has not yet created. Neither has vengeance for the blood of 3 pure youths who were on their>

way home to their parents who will not see them anymore. Hamas is responsible and Hamas will pay. May the memories of the 3 boys be blessed.

  • The hate trickles down. These two images were posted on the photo-sharing website Instagram – they are among hundreds posted on various social media sites inciting “revenge” and celebrating violence against Palestinians.

The first image, posted on 3 July, apparently shows an Israeli soldier with a weapon on his shoulder and the word “revenge” with two bloody daggers tatooed or drawn on his back.

In the second image, posted on 6 July, the badly injured face of Palestinian American 15-year-old Tariq Abukhdeir appears next to an image of a pig.

Abukhdeir was savagely beaten by Israeli forces in eastern occupied Jerusalem last Thursday. He is a cousin of Muhammad Abu Khudair.

    Not “fringe”

In a New York Times article today, Isabel Kershner presents the rampant racism that apparently led six Israeli youths to lynch Muhammad Abu Khudair as a “fringe” phenomenon.

It is no such thing. Incitement comes from the top.

Shaked is not alone in inciting this kind of genocidal hatred and it was Netanyahu who was the first to incite “vengeance” after the bodies of three murdered Israeli teenagers were found in the West Bank one week ago.

And the Times is not alone in helping to whitewash it.

I strongly recommend David Sheen’s latest article for Muftah on the phenomenon of racism in Israel and its widespread denial: “Jewish Groups’ Whitewash of Israeli Racism Ensures It Will Fester.”

With thanks to Ofer Neiman for assistance with research and Dena Shunra for translation.
