The Spooks in Alliance with the Democrats organised the Assault on Capitol Hill to make Trump look bad

By Gerry Downing

Outrage over Trump’s failed insurrection at Capitol Hill even as the United States glosses over its own history of inciting coups worldwide

Zoltan Zigedy has given us a strange, conspiratorial account to prove that there was no real fascist coup attempt on January 6 (M Star January 18). We encounter the counter-counter-coup theory:

“A remarkable event occurred on January 6. Some call it an attack, an insurrection, even a coup attempt … They were not storming the Bastille, but taking an unsanctioned, trashy tour of Versailles.”

Nothing to see here folks, move on, just a little fun. It was the Democrats who organised all this to make poor Donald look bad:

“No-one disputes the fact that the Capitol Police force that they met was little more than a token, despite the hyperventilating claims of potential violence and the proximity of City police and the National Guard in waiting (who didn’t come!). Undoubtedly, commentators are also correct in pointing to the collaboration of some of the Capitol Police in the incursion, but they seem less interested in why the other available forces were not deployed. The decisions to neither call for help nor extend it remain a far more significant question in the events of January 6 (the calls for help went unheeded by the Pentagon and Republicans!). It is worth noting that the Capitol Police are under the oversight of the Congress and not the executive branch (Republican Senators!). Therefore, the speculation that Trump left the door open does not seem plausible. Instead, there is plausible evidence from an unlikely source — the Washington Post — of Senate and House machinations (in fact the WP argues just the opposite).”

But they did call for help and help and it was was refused by top Pentagon officials. It wasn’t just that local police with far right sympathies allowed the coupists in, this was organised by the Trump supporters in the Congress, who expected the coup to succeed.

The Guardian reported on 14 January:

“Federal prosecutors have offered an ominous new assessment of last week’s siege of the US Capitol by Donald Trump’s supporters, saying in a court filing that rioters intended “to capture and assassinate elected officials”. Prosecutors offered that view in a filing asking a judge to detain Jacob Chansley, the Arizona man and QAnon conspiracy theorist who was photographed wearing horns as he stood at the desk of the vice-president, Mike Pence, in the chamber of the US Senate. The detention memo, written by justice department lawyers in Arizona, goes into greater detail about the FBI’s investigation into Chansley, revealing that he left a note for Pence warning that “it’s only a matter of time, justice is coming”.

“Strong evidence, including Chansley’s own words and actions at the Capitol, supports that the intent of the Capitol rioters was to capture and assassinate elected officials in the United States government,” prosecutors wrote.Zigedy writes, “it would not be too farfetched to suspect their (US security services’) deft hand somewhere in both the illegal recording of Trump’s phone call to officials in Georgia and the strange happenings on January 6”.” [1]

Pence escaped with only moments to spare:

“The violent mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 came perilously close to Vice President Pence, who was not evacuated from the Senate chamber for about 14 minutes after the Capitol Police reported an initial attempted breach of the complex — enough time for the marauders to rush inside the building and approach his location, according to law enforcement officials and video footage from that day.” [2]

The Pentagon were forced to defend its handling coup attempt at the U.S. Capitol:

“Top defense officials pushed back on accusations that the Pentagon was caught flat-footed by the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, … House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday implied that the Pentagon was partly to blame for the breach, calling on acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller to answer for “where the National Guard was yesterday”.” [3]

It remains a moot point whether Trump-supporting Republicans actually coordinated the attack on Capital Hill but they certainly encouraged it and some 200 in the House and a handful in the Senate remain committed to the ‘stolen election’ narrative:

“Five days after a pro-Trump mob moved to sack the Capitol, congressional Republicans have yet to mount a coherent response as they spar among themselves about whom to hold accountable for the rampage and how exactly they should do it. The effort to take stock of Wednesday’s shocking events has been complicated by President Trump’s ongoing hold on the vast majority of the party’s voters — as well as the role numerous lawmakers played in validating, repeating and amplifying Trump’s false claims about a stolen election.[4]

Zigedy writes at the end of his article: “Given the vast experience and success that the US security services have in overseas regime change, it would not be too farfetched to suspect their deft hand somewhere in both the illegal recording of Trump’s phone call to officials in Georgia and the strange happenings on January 6.”

It is openly acknowledged even by Trump supporters that Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger recorded that conversation. Atlanta Magazine’s Rebecca Burns observes:

“But, as any Georgia journalist, divorce lawyer, or corporate whistleblower can tell you, it was totally legal for Raffensperger to record his own conversation. Georgia—like a majority of the states—has a “single-party consent” law when it comes to recording conversations. What this means is that one person on a call can record the conversation without the agreement of the other. This can be used to protect journalists who conduct phone interviews.” [5]

Raffensperger had refused to pick up 18 times and then refused to do the illegal fixing of the election requested by Trump. He did the safe thing in recording it, Trump instructed him ‘find’ enough votes to overturn the election.

Trump’s previous call was on 23 December to Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs. Reportedly he was asked to “find the fraud” and he would be a “national hero” for doing so but no recording of that conversation has emerged if he did record it. He confirmed the call, “The secretary and the secretary of state’s office can confirm that the call did happen.” [6] The second call is enough to cover him legally. And a second opinion:

“The law allows a person to record someone else asking them to do something illegal, or threatening them in some way, which could be useful as evidence,” says Jess B. Johnson, trial attorney and partner in Pate, Johnson & Church. [7]

In the same January 18 issue of the Morning Star, Maryam Pashali, “a London-based Marxist historian” assures us we have no need to worry about the Capitol Hill rioters but, wait for it… “To dismiss the Capitol rioters as indefinable, fanatical fascists is to erase their uncontested place in the history of the US’s capitalist, liberal and democratic racism.”

Oh what is “liberal and democratic racism”??? On reading the article you realise that she is making an amalgam of the entire nation and so assigning it a unique soul, as in “my fellow Americans”, as every president of the empire says to avoid the concept of class conflict and class interests; “One day we will get over all this nastiness and bury our differences and march forward to the sunshine uplands. If not led by Trump maybe Biden will do as a representative of the poor and hungry equally as well as Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk”.

Having gone through the problems with the backward Trumpists she insists these are problems of democracy in the good old USA:

“This tradition at the heart of US democracy since the civil war cannot be dismissed as ephemeral fascism. The rapture at the call for protest gave the rioters a psychological respite from the increasing feelings of isolation, chaos and the perceived decline of tradition. These are the endemic issues of bourgeois democracies built upon racist fantasies with which US citizens must reckon, instead of dreaming of the easy solution of “rooting out fascism.”

US citizens (not the working class, of course) must “reckon” with these “endemic issues” (have a good think?) and on no account must they confront and defeat the forces of fascism. The great Marxist Joe Stalin had a similar notion when he persuaded the German Communist party that the Nazis were no danger whatsoever and they inanely parroted “after the Nazis us” when Hitler came to power in 31 January 1933. They kept saying it for six whole weeks until Hitler rounded them all up and sent them to the concentration camps. On 31 January 1931 Trotsky tried to warn them what was coming:

“Worker-Communists, you are hundreds of thousands, millions; you cannot leave for anyplace; there are not enough passports for you. Should fascism come to power, it will ride over your skulls and spines like a terrific tank. Your salvation lies in merciless struggle. And only a fighting unity with the Social Democratic workers can bring victory. Make haste, worker-Communists, you have very little time left!” [8]

Stalin knew best; he never apologised or explained why he made such an appalling mistake. And there you have the foolish illusions of Zoltan Zigedy, Maryam Pashali and all Stalinist socialism in a single country popular fronters who have buried the independent interests of the working class internationally since Grigori Dimitrov elaborated the class collaboration line at the Seventh and last Congress of the Comintern in 1935.

Of the various flags paraded around the seat of the US legislative branch, the most incendiary was a battle pennant from the Confederate army. Widely appropriated by white supremacists as a hate symbol, the “Southern Cross” never has been paraded publicly inside the Capitol before, historians point out. “It’s an outright affront to the government in its entirety,” says Antaeus Edelsohn, a University of Richmond law student and vexillology enthusiast.

  1. Viriato says:

But, what is a coup? It is the seizure of political power by one group or one social class against another social group or another social class.

Usually this is done after a very significant rise in social tensions, in the class struggle, or following the obvious errors of a power that has become unpopular and that clings to power.

A coup it is not triggered lightly, for a “yes” or for a “no”, even less when the fundamental interests of the dominant classes are not at stake.

Trump, had he prepared for a coup or could he hope to prepare a coup with a clown disguised as a Viking and with “assault troops” stopped by a few cops armed with pistols? It’s ridiculous.

They found the doors open, strolled by the Capitol and left it after throwing some papers on the ground and uttering some absurd cries. Not enough to make a fuss.

Worse, their sponsor disclaimed them, not only because they suck as insurgent troops but also because they fell straight into the basket of Democrats counter propaganda.

A coup d’etat is quite another thing and if the organizers of better coup d’etats, who have been masters in the matter worldwide, if they organized this charade, then they have come down as a category on the matter.

What were Trump’s intentions? Surely prepare for its political continuity by using demonstrators as stupid as far right can be to yell their absurdities in front of the Capitol, I cannot see more.

It failed miserably and his “supporters” (“God keep us of such silly supporters” must be thinking Trump …) did exactly what was right for the Democrats and all those who were fed up with Trump. They got inside, seeing the facilities given by cops as idiotic as the fancy dressed and other pee brained followers.

But from this to see a coup d’état made by a guy, Trump, who does not know how to organize one, who has against him a lot of people as so much the “services” as the military apparatus and a good part of the political class plus the great majority of the population is preposterous.

An even with all voters combined who especially do not want that. Because on thing is to take their own fantasies for reality, another to be part of a real coup d’état.

We have to stop this delirium, as will be done once Biden assumes and does the same policy as Trump. Because it will be all the same, which makes a coup d’etat to do the same policy, apart from Trump’s ambitions, absolutely no sensical.

Besides, for a coup, in addition a “fascist” coup it takes a little more than that; we need organized fascists and with a real hold in the population, and the voters for Trump, are not fascist gangs or supporters of fascism even if a few idiots more able to work in a circus that exhibits horns, can do illusion.

That was not a coup, neither a fascist coup and I am not willing to sound the Democrat’s propaganda trumpets because for me both are equal enemies.
